Cyberhawk uses drones and software to keep people out of danger and reduce the carbon footprint of our energy and large capital project clients.
We are looking for a PHP Laravel skilled Software Engineer at senior career level (c5yrs+ of product development exp) who wants to make a big impact and have autonomy and responsibility in a flexible company who value their employees.
This role can be UK remote with Infrequent onsite visits, or if you live close to our Edinburgh (Ratho) office - part of our hybrid working team.
About our PHP Laravel Software Engineer opportunity:
You will be joining our product team working on our cloud-based application. We are a mixed skill, product team working across multiple languages. We are continually doing new and interesting work. We work with cutting edge technologies and like to implement our learning.

Our tech environment:
You do not need to have experience across our whole stack, this just gives you an idea of what we use and what you can learn:
Environment: PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, React, React Native, SQL (MySQL and maria DB), AWS, Azure, Docker, Git& Git Actions, AWS SQS, MapBox and 3D visualisation with ThreeJS and Cesium.
Design patterns / Important areas: Microservices, Security, Scalability, Usability, Cloud Native, Performance, CI/CD.
Methodologies: Agile, User Centred Design.
You would be a good fit for our roles if you:
- Are a full stack engineer with PHP Laravel (we are happy if you have Symfony experience, but are keen to work with Laravel).
- Can design and implement medium to large size features while reducing our system’s tech debt.
- Understand front-end or DevOps.
- Understand and adhere to agile delivery processes.
- Have good communication skills.
- Are someone who takes ownership, responsibility and pride in their work.
- Are a good problem solver who is able to bring ideas and discuss with colleagues.
