SkyGrid, a Boeing, SparkCognition company, is powering the next generation of aviation. We are solving the industry’s biggest challenge integrating unmanned aircraft into complex, rapidly changing airspace. SkyGrid is defining a future where autonomous and highly automated aircraft operate without the need for onboard pilots. We develop the safety-of-life approved flight operations management services for such aircraft to ensure operations of all participants in the air transportation system are safe and secure.
The SkyGrid team is looking for a Avionics Systems Integration Lead Safety (going forward referred as IPT lead) responsible for the development, integration, and testing of a high integrity system, which hosts safety of human life functions for UAM (Urban Air Mobility) operations. The high integrity system shall be developed in accordance with ARP 4754A/B and DO178C standards, therefore the IPT lead shall demonstrate previous experience in leading the design and qualification of avionic grade systems or similar. This person will be the technical lead of a multidisciplinary integrated team composed of system engineers, software engineers, V&V (Verification & Validation) engineers, and autonomy engineers. The IPT Lead is responsible for technical decisions, planning, executing, and delivering the associated documentation and software according to the program plan. This person coordinates team activities with the other IPT leads and reports the progress to the System Engineering Manager and the Chief Engineer.
Perfromance Objectives:
- Release the system specifications for upcoming design reviews.
- Update the safety critical system design and architecture within the System/Subsystem Design Description following finalization of the design trades.
- Support R&D gate maturation reviews as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the safety critical system design to enable UAM flight monitoring and traffic surveillance per industry standards.
- Lead the development, decomposition, and tracking of safety critical system requirements from initial design to final verification and validation.
- Lead the development, modeling, and documentation of the safety critical system’s functional and physical architecture.
- Lead the identification of the safety critical system interfaces and support the integration of data service providers.
- Support the development and review of test plans and documentation ensuring that test execution will result in a successful requirement verification.
- Support component procurement and conduct system trade studies.
- Support design reviews through the system development.
- Support technology maturation of advanced system functionality per industry standards.
- Supervise the estimating, developing, and tracking ofHardware and Software JIRA tasks with High Integrity HW/SW/Test leads.
- Responsible for the system HW/SW deliveries per the program plan.
