Position Overview
At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Manufacturing Engineer I to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Responsibilities
- Service the development, production, and delivery of aerostructure components and assemblies.
- Create and maintain Engineering masters and operations work orders through an electronic ERP System (SAP).
- Create part inspection check lists, first article inspections, manufacturing planning documents, inspection sheets, request for change inquiries, purchase orders, inspect drawings, prepare bid packages for the suppliers/vendors, prepare basis of estimates and quotes in support of business proposals, provide support to the production floor with drawing and technical specifications interpretations.
- Main interface with internal or external design engineering services.
- Incorporates lean manufacturing principles and participates in process improvement initiatives.
- Prevent process bottlenecks and improve processes for the manufacturing engineering activities.
- Follow established company procedures and project execution processes.

Minimum Requirements
- Education/experience acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with GD&T and blueprint reading/model interrogation.
- Experience with 3D CAD Software (CATIA, NX or similar).
- Must be a US Person.
Preferred Requirements
- Two (2) or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
- Experience with composite and/or metal aerostructure fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly.
- Experience with assembly sequencing, and producibility utilizing CAD software (SolidWorks or Catia5 preferred).
- Understanding of the financial and scheduling metrics relevant to successfully executing a program.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP planning systems and bill of material interrogation for process planning.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
- Follow Boeing regulations for lifting.
- May be required to support extended hours or alternate shifts.
- Work onsite in Bridgeport, WV.
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
- Minimum Range: $49,000.00 to $88,000.00
- Maximum Range: $59,000.00 to $104,000.00
