Job Description
As a Robotics Field Technician I at Square Robot, Inc. you will be part of a talented team working on our autonomous mobile robot for industrial infrastructure inspections. In this role, you will be supporting company efforts to grow and improve our field operations team. This role will directly contribute to a diverse team deploying and operating our robotic inspection solutions around the world. The ideal candidate for this position is capable of executing self-directed fieldwork, utilizing a hands-on skill set as well as a detail-oriented and methodical mindset.
This role includes working closely with members of our operations, engineering, and management teams to foster a collaborative and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the highest possible safety standards at all times.
- Support launch and recovery operations of an autonomous robot.
- Move equipment site to site (domestic).
- Understand OSHA requirements.
- Ability to be a “qualified rigger” and “crane spotter” on projects.
- Maintain a high professional standard.
- Contribute to all aspects of field operations development by providing support to the senior field technicians and robotics field engineers.
- Commitment to continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing techniques
- Able to utilize Google Docs and/or Microsoft Office products
- Ability and willingness to safely carry and handle substantial weight (50 lbs) and walk up tank stairways at a height of 70 feet (100 steps)
- Comfortable working with hand tools
- Self-directed individual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license
- Satisfactory results of a background check and Non-DOT and DOT drug tests
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to travel (75+%), extended working hours, and exposure to a wide range of weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- ASNT certified education and training for multiple NDT disciplines
- Demonstrated track record of exceptional individual performance in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in highly integrated team environments under schedule and cost pressures
- Available for international travel and have a passport
- Passionate for robotics and innovation

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Fluency in English required; second language a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
