The Job
We are looking for a DevOps engineer with solid experience in developing and supporting distributed systems. The ideal candidate would be interested in learning more about the fascinating Earth Observation industry, would need minimal supervision, and would excel while working on challenging, loosely defined problems. Our team is in a place where software development goes hand in hand with learning about satellites.
Note: US citizenship and active Secret clearance is mandatory; must be open to CI poly. TS/SCI clearance is preferred but not required.
Main Responsibilities
- Administer, troubleshoot, and tune new and existing Kubernetes deployments.
- Create/tune new and existing automated pipelines and assist the teams with deploying containerized applications into Kubernetes clusters.
- Design and apply infrastructure strategies for existing and future projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational, network, pipeline, and infrastructure issues.
- Translate product requirements to well-crafted software solutions.
- Identify, document and automate repetitive or critical processes/workflows to lower the workload for the development team.
- Ensure proper site reliability, monitoring and alerting are present.
- Ensure compliance with security and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to gather requirements.
- Partner with fellow engineers to architect, develop and scale the product, while keeping operational issues in mind.
- Drive ongoing efficiency and reliability improvements that improve the quality of the systems.
Position Requirements:
- 4+ years of technical experience in DevOps field with strong Kubernetes and Linux experience
- Good understanding of distributed systems in practice, multi-tier architectures, application security, monitoring and storage systems.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes container orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
- Hands-on experience with one of the major cloud providers, preferably GCP/AWS
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Еxperience with infrastructure provisioning preferably Pulumi.
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python, Bash.
- Previous experience in supporting 24/7/365 services will be a plus.
- Preference for early-stage projects.
