Job Requirements:
Full time: Perception Algorithm Engineer
The position holder will be responsible to conduct research on the state-of-the-art AI algorithms for complex visual perception tasks on autonomously flying drones, including but not limited to human detection and tracking, depth estimation, obstacle detection and avoidance;
- Determine which class of advanced algorithms could provide a solution or a part of the solution and design and create new algorithms that leverage existing technologies, also evaluate different candidate algorithms to determine the best option based on computational requirements of the system, accuracy of the results, and applicability of the algorithm to the specific use case;
- Test drone performance by collecting and analyzing log files, debug and visualized through Matlab, and work with large field testing data to continuously iterate and improve autonomously flying performance of our drone products;
- Develop and deploy robust and reliable solutions for object tracking, sensor fusion, and probabilistic modeling on target platforms for autonomous flying software project and build 3D perception pipeline to accommodate state-of-arts research algorithms;
- Research and analyze state-of-arts machine perception for drones and encode perception uncertainty and collaborate with downstream modules to make the system safe and robust;
- Work closely with other researchers and engineers across SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) and infrastructure teams to build efficient perception systems on cloud and embedded devices at scale. Also work closely with software and test team members for production deployment.
Requirements:
The position requires at least a Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or any equivalent engineering field , plus at least 12 monthsof work experience as a same or related engineer occupation involving autonomous driving.
