Requirements
Candidates should have comprehensive experience in performing aerospace structural design with CAD. The candidates should have many of the following capabilities:
- Bachelor’s Required; Master’s Preferred
- (2-7) years’ experience – mid level
- (7-20) years’ experience – senior level
- Proficient in running CAD software Catia v5/v6 and 3DX. NX CAD a plus.
- Competent at implementing aerospace industry practices for CAD model setup.
- Practical design experience with composite laminates, including ply drop ratios and layup patterns on complicated surfaces, such as padups around cutouts and bolted joints.
- Competent at modeling airframe wing and fuselage composite structures, with particular emphasis on sandwich and stiffened panels, including ply drop details around the stiffener
- Experience with CAD modeling of composite fasteners and edge band padups
- Strong documentation, communication and presentation skills
Roles and Responsibilities
- Along with the CAD software, ability to learn and use HyperX for preliminary and detail design sizing optimization of full airframe and space vehicles. Candidates must be adept at using engineering software tools, learning new software and analysis methods, and working in a Windows OS environment.
- Work along with HyperX aerospace structural stress engineers to design customer airframes and space launch vehicles, and to get HyperX sizing results into the CAD.
- Ensure project issues are resolved in a timely fashion with your related experience and competence and an ability to create workaround procedures when needed. Escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate engineering leads.
- Participate in overall HyperX software testing and provide your suggestions to development and modification of the software.
- Midlevel engineers will lead a team of 2- 3 engineers, providing leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals.
- Senior engineers will lead a group of other midlevel engineers and will technically, and in a business sense, represent the company and the HyperX software favorably in customer settings.
